The Story behind Grandpa's Diary

A Grandfather himself at the time, researching his first book on Reverse Mortgages, Greg interviewed a number of “seniors” who shared innumerable Grandchildren stories. It was mostly the Grand-mothers doing the talking, Grandpa grunting agreement, or rolling the eyes in the background. The light bulb went off, clearly there is an interesting story behind this transition.

 
 

 Excerpt:

It has been scientifically proven that Males are “Guys” first; “Grandpas” second. We know this for a fact. This is the source of confusion and conflict.  For example:

A guys initial thought upon being presented with a Barbie Doll for the first time is

 - Wow she's got big boobs D Cup at least! I hope they didn't put nipples on those; (and you know he has to check!)

Followed closely by the ever protective Grandpa:

Geez this is going to give the kid some kind of complex later in life; like she is supposed look like Barbie when she grows up! 

What a load of crap. The only women that look like this are in a magazine, or are bitchy - high maintenance shopaholics.

Hmm.. lets find Barbie a tool belt and a power saw so she can fix something; while Ken is in that little house over there drinking beer watching the game with his buddies. Hey, I wonder if you can tattoo a doll--  Now there is a cool reality!
